PRAYERS OF THE CONGREGATION
*CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 100 NRSV adapted
Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all you GodÕs people!
People: We are here to worship the Lord with
gladness. God made us; we
belong to the
LORD; we are GodÕs people and the sheep of
his pasture.
Leader: Let us enter into
the presence of the LORD with thanksgiving
and into GodÕs sanctuary with praise.
Let us give thanks to our God and bless GodÕs holy name.
People: For
the LORD is good; GodÕs steadfast love
endures forever and GodÕs faithfulness to all
generations.
Leader: Join me in giving thanks as we
worship God our
Creator, seek to follow Jesus our Redeemer and
listen for our Still-Speaking God.
*HYMN ÒCome My
PeopleÓ
(pg. 6 Bulletin)
*OPENING PRAYER
Loving God, we thank you for the gift of life and the abundant blessings you give us. How
shall we respond to your faithfulness? Help us to be aware of the treasures you
have entrusted to us: our various relationships, abilities, health, time, and
resources. We thank you too, for our church where we become aware of the power
of the gifts you bestow upon us. It amazes us that because of who
you created us to be, and because of the various treasures we share, our church
changes lives – including our own. We praise you for your faithfulness
and all you have entrusted to our care. Amen
*PASSING THE PEACE
We are a people in need of peace. In so many places we are overwhelmed and our world is overwhelming. My friends, Jesus wants us to have the peace that passes all human understanding. Let us encourage one another, reminding each other that Jesus offers peace. The Peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you.
(All are invited to greet
others with handshakes or hugs while saying to them "the peace of Christ
be with you" and responding " and also with you.")
*SONG OF PRAISE "For the Beauty of the EarthÓ (vs. 4)
For the good
that love inspires,
for the
world where none exclude.
For a faith
that never tires,
and for
every heart renewed,
God of all,
to you we raise
this our
hymn of grateful praise.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORDÕS PRAYER
Our Father,
who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our
debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver
us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

*SONG OF DEDICATION ÒWe Give Thee but Thine OwnÓ
We give Thee
but by thine own,
What-eÕre the
gift may be;
All that we
have is Thine alone,
A trust, O Lord from thee. Amen.
*PRAYER DEDICATING OUR GIFTS
AND FAITH PROMISES1
One: Creator of all, the earth is yours,
the world
and all who live in it.
All: You have entrusted
us with gifts—
time,
talent, energy, money—
and asked us
to use them to build your kingdom.
With thanks
and praise we respond to your call.
One: We bring these gifts you have
given,
returning your generosity, paying it
forward.
All: We dedicate our Faith Promises offering ourselves
our lives, our hopes and fears, our dollars and our
hours. We commit ourselves
to work for your
world, to love and serve wherever you call. One:
We ask your blessing on this, your church,
as we seek to
follow you with heart, mind, and soul.
We pray that our church will change lives because of
who we are and what we do.
All: Bless also the gifts which we bring,
through our
offerings – as we give checks and cash, monthly
through our bank accounts, yearly through stock
dividends, and at the end of our lives
through our
bequests and estates. May our gifts today and our
Faith Promises for 2020 be our
investment in your
future. May our gifts change lives as together we
live in the power of faith, hope and love. Amen

*THE BENEDICTION
*CHORAL RESPONSE ÒMake Me a BlessingÓ Al Hailey
Make me a blessing, touch me today.
Lord, please use me, in your own way.
Washed of your spirit, humble and low,
into your service, Lord, let me go.
Lord, take these hands; Lord take these feet
into the paths you bid me go
Lord, make my life complete.
Short is our time, Lord, help us to know
where we may serve you, then bid us go.
Make me a blessing, touch me, I pray;
Lord, please guide me, oh, Father, today.
