WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
We would like to welcome
all of you who have gathered with us today for worship. We come from many
places to this time and place. From our varied and hectic lives, we gather in
this sacred space, as a community to be challenged, to give thanks and to
worship. No matter who you are or where you are on lifeÕs journey you are
welcome here.
GATHERING ÒWhat a Friend We Have in JesusÓ
What
a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What
a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
Oh,
what peace we often forfeit,
oh,
what needless pain we bear,
All
because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!
PRAYERS OF THE CONGREGATION
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Blessed be the Lord God who looks with kindness upon us.
People: Blessed be our Lord
Jesus Christ who reassures us that we are forgiven and will be with him in
paradise
Leader: May we live
lives that are pleasing to God as we work hard for the Kingdom of God.
People: We
want to learn how God works so that we know what to do.
Leader: Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Our Redeemer King
will show us what is good and pleasing to God. Let us follow him with joy and songs of praise.

We Confess Our Sin and Seek GodÕs Forgiveness
*CALL
TO CONFESSION
*PRAYER
OF CONFESSION1
Many times you have rescued us, O God. Yet we continue to
wander away from your vision for us. We claim to be followers of Jesus, but we
do not speak up when he is mocked. We do not respond when he summons us from
the perilous byways we have chosen. Our words and deeds deny the faith we
proclaim. God of all nations deliver us from misplaced loyalties and
unacknowledged sin. Forgive our foolish ways. Amen.
*SILENCE FOR PERSONAL PRAYERS OF CONFESSION
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
*PASSING THE PEACE
Jesus said, ÒPeace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.Ó May we each know this peace. Let us share ChristÕs peace with one another.
(All are invited to greet others with handshakes or hugs
while saying to them "the peace of Christ be with you" and responding
" and also with you.")
*SONG OF PRAISE "The Gloria Patri"
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son
And to
the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever
shall be,
world without end. Amen, Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE
PEOPLE
THE LORDÕS PRAYER
Our
Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive
us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but
deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

*CHORAL RESPONSE ÒMake Me a BlessingÓ Al Hailey
Make me a blessing, touch me today.
Lord, please use me, in your own way.
Washed of your spirit, humble and low,
into your service, Lord, let me go.
Lord, take these hands; Lord take these feet
into the paths you bid me go
Lord, make my life complete.
Short is our time, Lord, help us to know
where we may serve you, then bid us go.
Make me a blessing, touch me, I pray;
Lord, please guide me, oh, Father, today.
