WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
We would like to welcome
all of you who have gathered with us today for worship. We come from many
places to this time and place. From our varied and hectic lives, we gather in
this sacred space, as a community to be challenged, to give thanks and to
worship. No matter who you are or where you are on lifeÕs journey you are
welcome here.
GATHERING MUSIC ÒEvery
Time I Feel the SpiritÓ
(Refrain) EvÕry time I feel the Spirit
movinÕ in my heart, I will
pray. Oh evÕry time I feel the Spirit movinÕ in my heart, I will pray.
O I have sorrows and I have woe, And I have
heartaches here
below; But my Lord leads me, IÕm in his care, And I can
feel him evÕry where.

PRAYERS OF THE CONGREGATION
CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Let us turn our attention to the One who creates and claims us in love.
People: Holy God, we have gathered to worship you.
Leader: Let us turn our attention to the One who shows love from the cross and beyond the tomb.
People:
We are called to be courageous followers of the Risen Christ.
Leader: Let us turn our attention to the One sent by God through Jesus to teach us everything and remind of all that Jesus said.
People: May your Spirit fall upon us that we might
prophesy, see visions and dream dreams of a renewed church and world.
*HYMN ÒSpirit
of God, Descend upon My HeartÓ
vs 1, 3,4, 5 #277
*PRAYER
O Lord, we are grateful your Spirit is willing to lead us, comfort us, teach
us and encourage us. We are not as eager for your Spirit to challenge us to
speak faithfully where others disagree; to work for peace where there is
animosity and anger; to share your love with our words as well as our deeds. Inspire
us to stand firm in our faith, to work toward the world you envision and to
trust that your ways will prosper.
*SILENCE AS WE CONFESS OUR PERSONAL SINS
*ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
*PASSING THE PEACE
When
the Spirit of God is among us, amazing things happen: the oppressed are freed;
anxiety is relieved, grief is lifted, and hope is restored.
When the Spirit of God is among us, there
is peace – the kind of peace Jesus promises.
Let us seek for that peace among us. May you
experience the peace of Christ.
May you experience the peace of Christ.
(All are invited to greet others with
handshakes or hugs while saying to them "the
peace of Christ be with you" and responding " and also with you.")

PRAYER OF OUR SAVIOR
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. For Thine is
the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
