RINGING OF THE BELL
WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
We would like to welcome all of you who have gathered with us today for
worship. We come from many places to this time and place. From our varied and
hectic lives, we gather in this sacred space, as a community to be challenged,
to give thanks and to worship. No matter who you are or where you are on lifeÕs
journey you are welcome here.
GATHERING MUSIC ÒThey that
Wait Upon the LordÓ
They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Help us Lord, help us Lord on our way.
PRAYERS OF THE CONGREGATION
CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Seek the LORD while God may be found.
People: We are ready to follow
Jesus.
Leader: Support one another for the journey to the cross is not easy.
People:
Even Jesus faced betrayal,
denial, rejections and torment.
Leader: Call on God as you face the challenges of life, even death itself.
People: We remember as Jesus
moved toward the cross, he taught and walked in love.
Leader: To him be the Glory!
The Procession of Palms
Children and others in the
congregation may parade around the sanctuary singing and waving palms.
*HYMN ÒAll
Glory, Laud and HonorÓ
1.All glory, laud, and honor to you,
Redeemer, King,
to whom the lips of children made sweet hosannas ring.
You are the King of Israel and David's royal Son,
now in the Lord's
name coming, the King and Blessed One.
2. The company of angels is praising you
on high;
and we with all creation in chorus make reply.
The people of the Hebrews with palms before you went;
our praise and prayer and anthems before you we present.
3.To you before your passion they sang
their hymns of praise; to you, now high exalted, our melody we
raise.
As you received their praises, accept the prayers we bring,
for you delight in goodness, O good and gracious King!
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
PRAYER OF OUR SAVIOR
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil. For Thine is
the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

do you want us to prepare the Passover?Ó
Disciples: ÒNo,
nothing!Ó they replied.
Disciples: ÒLook,
Rabbi, here are two swords!Ó
HYMN ÒJourney to GethsemaneÓ
Journey to Gethsemane Go and feel the tempterÕs power;
Your RedeemerÕs conflict see;
Watch the anguish of this hour;
Do not hide or turn away; Learn from Jesus how to
pray.
Disciples: ÒRabbi, should we
strike them with our swords?Ó
Soldiers: ÒPlay
the prophet! Which one struck you?Ó
Interrogators: ÒTell
us, are you the Messiah?Ó
Interrogators: ÒSo you are
GodÕs Own?Ó
Interrogators: 71 ÒWhat

HYMN ÒJourney to GethsemaneÓ
Follow then to PilateÕs hall, View the Lord of
life arraigned; Crowned with thorns and mocked by all, Faithfully this pain
sustained. Greater still than shame, or loss; Jesus now must face the cross.
Leaders: ÒHe
saved others, let him save himself—if he really is the Messiah of God,
the Chosen One!Ó
HYMN ÒJourney to GethsemaneÓ
CalvÕryÕs mournful mountain
climb; See the Savior lifted high. Mark that miracle of time, GodÕs own Child
is sacrificed; ÒIt is finished!Ó Jesus cries;
learn from Jesus how to die.
*HYMN ÒO Sacred Head Now WoundedÓ
O Sacred head now wounded,
with grief and shame weighed
down,
Now scornfully surrounded
with thorns your only crown.
How pale you are with
anguish, with sore abuse and scorn!
How does your visage
languish
which once was bright as
morn!
What language shall I borrow
to thank you dearest friend;
For this your dying sorrow, you pity without end.
May I be yours forever and though my days be few,
O Savior, let me never out live my love for you!
