WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

We would like to welcome all of you who have gathered with us today for worship. We come from many places to this time and place. From our varied and hectic lives, we gather in this sacred space, as community to be challenged, to give thanks and to worship. No matter who you are or where you are on lifeÕs journey you are welcome here.

GATHERING MUSIC   ÒWhat a Friend We Have in JesusÓ

What a friend we have in Jesus,

all our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer
O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

People:    Yet, we all serve the same Lord.

Leader:     There are many activities we can do to serve God:

teach, sing, clean, cook, preach, learn, workÉ

People:    Yet, it is the same God who activates them in everyone.

Leader:     Each of us are gifted by the Spirit, therefore let us rejoice in the gifts God has trusted to each one of us.

All:          Through the gifts entrusted to us, we worship God as we proclaim, ÒJesus is Lord.Ó

*GATHERING PRAYER

Holy God, send your Spirit upon us so that we might receive and recognize the gifts you give to each of us.  Help us to rejoice in what we can do to bring your love into the world. At the same time, Gracious God help us to recognize the gifts others bring to our ministry. Cause us to celebrate together that through you, we can and have done much. Forgive us when we deny any of the gifts you have entrusted to our ministry together. You are the One God, the One Lord and the One Spirit, to you we offer the gifts you have entrusted to us. Amen.

*SILENCE as we consider our own gifts and those of others.

*PASSING THE PEACE
