WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
We would like to welcome all of you who have gathered with us today for
worship. We come from many places to this time and place. From our varied and
hectic lives, we gather in this sacred space, as community to be challenged, to
give thanks and to worship. No matter who you are or where you are on lifeÕs
journey you are welcome here.
GATHERING MUSIC ÒWhat a Friend We Have in JesusÓ
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to
carry everything to God in prayer
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.
PRAYERS OF THE CONGREGATION

Leader: There are many gifts, talents and abilities given by God.
People: But
there is only one Spirit.
Leader: There are a variety of ways we can serve God.
People:
Yet, we all serve the same Lord.
Leader: There are many activities we can do to serve God:
teach, sing, clean, cook, preach, learn, workÉ
People: Yet, it is the same God who activates them
in everyone.
Leader: Each of us are gifted by the Spirit, therefore let us rejoice in the gifts God has trusted to each one of us.
All: Through
the gifts entrusted to us, we worship God as we proclaim, ÒJesus is Lord.Ó

PRAYER
Holy
God, send your Spirit upon us so that we might receive and recognize the gifts
you give to each of us. Help us to
rejoice in what we can do to bring your love into the world. At the same time,
Gracious God help us to recognize the gifts others bring to our ministry. Cause
us to celebrate together that through you, we can and have done much. Forgive
us when we deny any of the gifts you have entrusted to our ministry together. You
are the One God, the One Lord and the One Spirit, to you we offer the gifts you
have entrusted to us. Amen.
*SILENCE as
we consider our own gifts and those of others.
*PASSING THE PEACE
Realizing the gifts we have received through the Spirit, we seek to work to together to create a place where GodÕs love is evident. May GodÕs peace be among us. The peace of Christ be with you.
And
also with you.
(All are
invited to greet others with handshakes or hugs while saying to them ÒThe peace of Christ be with youÓ and
responding, Òand also with you.Ó)
*SONG OF PRAISE ÒTheyÕll Know We Are ChristiansÓ
All praise to the Father, from whom all things come,
And all praise to Christ Jesus, His only Son,
And all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one:
And theyÕll know we are Christians by our love,
by our love,
Yes, theyÕll know we are Christians by our love.
