 PRAYERS OF THE CONGREGATION

ÒWhat A Friend We Have in JesusÓ    :11 Sing

What a friend we have in Jesus

all our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry

everything to God in prayer
O what peace we often forfeit

O what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer

CALL TO WORSHIP    (Based on Psalm 145:10-13, 21)

Leader:     All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all youÕre your faithful ones shall bless you.

People:    We shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power to inform all human beings about GodÕs power and the majestic glory of GodÕs kingdom.

Leader:    The LORD is trustworthy in all that God says, faithful in all that God does.

All:          My mouth will proclaim the LORDÕs praise, and every living thing will bless GodÕs holy name forever and always.

*HYMN    ÒImmortal, Invisible, God Only WiseÓ  :12 Sing

                                                                          (Bulletin Insert)

*PRAYER OF ADORATION  (Based on Ephesians 3:14-21)

God of love, you are there for us in all times and places. Fill our hearts with your presence; strengthen us in our inner being with power from your Spirit. Root and ground us in your love. As we praise you, for your abundant love, grant us the courage to work for justice and peace, speaking the truth in love. To you be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

PASSING THE PEACE  (Based Colossians 3:12-18)

As GodÕs holy and beloved ones, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Be tolerant with each other and, if someone has a complaint against anyone, forgive each other. May the peace of Christ control your heart. Whatever you do, whether in speech or action, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus and give thanks to God the Father through him. May the peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

(All are invited to greet others with handshakes or hugs while saying to them "The peace of Christ be with you" and responding "and also with you.")
