CONGREGATONAL PRAYER

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:      Hosanna! Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord!

People:     Hosanna! We shout because Jesus is among us.

Leader:      He has come with power to empower us!

People:     So, we thought. Instead we betrayed him, denied him, abandoned him and again shouted filled with fear, with disappointment and even the hope that he still would save us.

Leader:      Our sin, the sin of the whole world caused his death.

People:     Yet today, again we shout, ÒBlessed is the coming reign of the kingdom of God.Ó

All:           Hosanna in the highest heaven!

*HYMN  ÒAll Glory Laud and HonorÓ        (pg. 6 bulletin)

We Confess Our Sin and Seek GodÕs Forgiveness

*CALL TO CONFESSION

Let us confess our sin against God and one another.

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION

O God, we are so in need of a King who takes away our fear and despair, bringing justice to a world where there is little.

Forgive us for being swayed by those who claim power and promise peace, yet do not walk in your ways.

Faithful God, we trust that we know what is best, we believe we know who Jesus is, yet too often we are wrong.

Forgive us, for being swayed by the shouting in the world, forgive us for choosing the wrong gods.

*SILENCE FOR PERSONAL PRAYERS

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus. At the name of Jesus, may our knees bend, and our tongues confess that he is Lord to the glory of God. He is the One who forgives us. He is the One who promises Òwe will be with him in paradise.Ó

*PASSING THE PEACE

Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.

Grant us your peace.

Through GodÕs steadfast love, may the peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

(All are invited to greet others with handshakes or hugs while saying to them ÒThe peace of Christ be with youÓ and responding, Òand also with you.Ó)

*SONG OF PRAISE              "Lift High the CrossÓ

Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim;

Let all adore and praise that sacred name.

Come Christians follow, where the Savior Trod,

the Lamb victorious, Christ the Child of God.

 Lift high the cross, the love of Christ proclaim;

Let all adore and praise that sacred name.
