Gathering Together to Worship God
PRELUDE Eileen Zank
RINGING OF THE BELL
WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
GATHERING MUSIC ÒBlest Be the TieÓ
Blessed be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love; the sharing
of a common life is like to that above.
We share each otherÕs woes, each otherÕs burdens bear,
And often for each other flows a sympathizing tear.
PRAYING TOGETHER
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: We have gathered in the presence of God our Creator.
People: We have gathered in the sanctuary
to worship God.
Leader: Jesus Christ is in this very place.
People: His presence causes us to
look for signs that point us toward God.
Leader: Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and notice what he does among us, following in his ways.

Our Sin, Receiving GodÕs Forgiveness
*CALL TO CONFESSION
*PRAYER OF
CONFESSION
We have come to your temple, loving God, because we want
to worship you. At times we forget that this is to be a holy place where we are
to meet you. Forgive us when the words of our mouths and the meditations of our
hearts are not acceptable to you.
*PERSONAL
PRAYERS OF CONFESSION
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, God hears our confession and knows our
sin. God calls us to change our hearts and minds. In the name of Jesus and
through the love of God we are forgiven. May the Holy Spirit, God guide us
toward faithfulness.
*PASSING THE PEACE
Pastor: In this very place, Jesus invites us to become people of peace.
People: We will practice creating peace in this
place so that we can be peacemakers in the world.
Pastor: The peace of Christ be with you.
People: And
also with you.
(All are
invited to greet others with handshakes or hugs while saying to them ÒThe peace of Christ be with youÓ and
responding, Òand also with you.Ó)

is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
