We
Confess Our Sin and Seek GodÕs Forgiveness1
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God
of Wholeness, we confess to You that we have wanted our share. We have taken
what we thought we deserved and earned forgetting you are the provider of all
we have. We have forgotten how you meet our needs. We have forgotten your expectation
that we offer our abundance to those in need. Forgive us, for neglecting you
while enjoying what you provide. Have mercy when we claim the authority to determine
who is worthy of our aid. We need your help to be more like Jesus.
SILENCE FOR PERSONAL PRAYERS
In GodÕs image God created us. And God was pleased. Let us repent of our sin knowing GodÕs love for creation and each of us has never diminished. Forgiven of our sin against God, our neighbors, creation and yes ourselves, let us enjoy and share the abundance God provides.
PASSING THE PEACE
It is hard work to be faithful. We need the support of one another. Let us support one another so we can each find peace.
God wants for all the peace that enables
faithful ministry.
Let us offer GodÕs peace to one another; let our peace be extended into the world. The peace of Christ be with you.
And also with you
(All are invited to greet others with
handshakes or hugs while saying to them ÒThe
peace of Christ be with youÓ and responding, Òand also with you.Ó)
SONG OF PRAISE ÒJoyful, Joyful, We Adore
YouÓ
God is giving and forgiving, ever
blessing, ever blessed,
Wellspring of the joy of living,
ocean depth of happy rest!
Loving Spirit, Father, Mother,
all who love belong to you;
Teach us how to love each other,
by that love our joy renew.

*RESPONSE ÒLet There Be Peace on
EarthÓ
Let there be
peace on earth, and let it begin with me.
Let there be
peace on earth, the peace that was meant
to be. With God
our Creator, children all are we.
Let us walk with
each other in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin
with me; let this be the moment now.
With every step I
take, let this be my solemn vow:
To take each
moment, and live each moment in peace eternally!
Let there be
peace on earth and let it begin with me.
