Leader:   In the beginning the Spirit of God swept over the face of the waters.

People:  In the beginning God said, ÒLet us make humankind in our image.Ó

*HYMN          ÒHoly! Holy! HolyÓ                                      #323

*PRAYER1                                                                 Don Abel

Creator God, you have birthed us into life,

Christ Jesus, you have nurtured us along our way,

In you we live and move and have our being.

To you we bring our offering of praise and thanksgiving.

We open ourselves to your Holy Spirit in this time of worship.

Fill us with resolve and purpose, to be your community and to expand our boundaries until all of creation is renewed and all people are welcomed and blessed.

This we ask through the risen and ascended Christ who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

*PASSING THE PEACE                                       Don Abel

        Jesus says to us, ÒPeace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.

Jesus tells us, ÒDo not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.Ó

May the peace Jesus offers be ours.  Let us share the peace of Christ with one another.

(All are invited to greet others with handshakes or hugs while saying to them "The peace of Christ be with you" and responding "and also with you.")

SONG OF PRAISE  "Gloria PatriÓ

      Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen.  Amen

The LordÕs Prayer

  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

INVITATION TO OFFERING1                              Joy Abel

All that we have is a gift from God; let us return a portion of our gifts and make commitments to how we shall serve as we follow Jesus.

THE OFFERTORY                                               Eileen Zank

*THE DOXOLOGY

      Praise God from whom all blessings flow;

      Praise God, all creatures here below;

      Praise God for all that love has done;

      Creator, Christ and Spirit One.  Amen

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION1                                  Joy Abel

Receive these gifts,

even our very lives for your service.

Multiply them and our effort to meet the need.

We are yours God, use us we pray, Amen.

*HYMN          ÒCome, Thou Almighty KingÓ                     #341

*THE BENEDICTION                                             Don Abel

Let us learn how to be Òboth andÓ people.

We want to include all and be compassionate to all.

May GodÕs richest blessings descend upon us.

May the love of Jesus bless all we encounter.

May the Holy Spirit lead us to do GodÕs work in world.

Go with God,

And God will surely go with us. Amen.

*RESPONSE   "Let There Be PeaceÓ

      Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

      Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant

      to be. With God our Creator, children all are we.

      Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.

      Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now.

      With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow:

      To take each moment, and live each moment in peace eternally!

      Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
