*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:   We have gathered in this place where all are welcome.

People:  We never know who might make God known to us.

Leader:   Yes, in this very place, God may be present.

People:  We might hear GodÕs voice in a song, or a prayer or a reading or a sermon or deep in our heart as we listen.

Leader:   Yes, God might have a surprising word, a challenging word, an encouraging word, a comforting word.

People:  We will listen for the voice of God, made known in the love of Jesus and be led by Holy Spirit.

Leader:   Let us worship God as we welcome one another.

*HYMN          ÒAll Are WelcomeÓ                                  (insert)

*PRAYER

Ever surprising God, some of your surprises overwhelm us. Your love for us in Jesus Christ is an amazing grace. The blessings of family and friends give us great joy. Your willingness to walk with us in all times and places gives us courage. As you surprise us, help us to offer grace, hospitality and compassion to each other and our unexpected guests. In ChristÕs name, we rejoice to welcome you. Amen.

*PASSING THE PEACE

Jesus says, as I have loved you, love one another.

As we offer care and compassion to one another, in the name of Jesus, we offer it to Him.

Offering care and compassion is a step toward the peace Jesus offered. May his love be made known among us as we share GodÕ peace with each other.

(All are invited to greet others with handshakes or hugs while saying to them "The peace of Christ be with you" and responding "and also with you.")

Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.

Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant

to   be.  With God our Creator, children all are we.

Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now.

With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow:
