On July 6 Sue Vornholt is heading to Kenya as part of a group with Project Kenya Charity. (We heard from Brydie Hill, the organization’s founder, in January.) Sue will be taking along books and other supplies donated by members to help in her teaching assignment at Migori in the western part of Kenya. Her 18-member mission team will be finishing constructing an early childhood classroom for children 4-6 years of age, installing a computer lab, teaching classes and holding several continuing education workshops for teachers, and interacting with the community. We look forward to hearing from Sue in August when she returns.
An intergenerational group gathered in the lower level of the church on several days in June to make quilts for the youth at Homme Home. Funding was provided by Thrivent.
