Angel Tree Project

Our Mission and Outreach Committee helps in many ways, both at home and abroad.  During the Christmas season they have worked with other community groups in the Angel Tree Project to provide an uplift to various people in need, especially so that children may experience generosity and care. Volunteers meet on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays during December to prepare and deliver the packages.  New helpers are welcome

Sue Vornholt Helps in Kenya

On July 6 Sue Vornholt is heading to Kenya as part of a group with Project Kenya Charity.  (We heard from Brydie Hill, the organization’s founder, in January.)  Sue will be taking along books and other supplies donated by members to help in her teaching assignment at Migori in the western part of Kenya.  Her 18-member mission team will be finishing constructing an early childhood classroom for children 4-6 years of age, installing a computer lab, teaching classes and holding several continuing education workshops for teachers, and interacting with the community.  We look forward to hearing from Sue in August when she returns.

Quilts for Homme

An intergenerational group gathered in the lower level of the church on several days in June to make quilts for the youth at Homme Home.  Funding was provided by Thrivent.
